40 Day Journey, Day 9

Day 9

I had to work today. Little bit of over time won’t hurt the pocket book much. They called last week for people. When I am on call I don’t turn them down. I see it as part of being on call. I worked in Salem most of the day. Meet some great people. There are just some tender people in this world and they make for some great conversation. Part of this game of Cable is meeting new people. I was able to make this ladies year by just taking my time and waiting on her TiVo. It was an older model. It did the job for her but I soon realized why dial up is obsolete. I was able to speak joy into my routers day. (A router is the person who manages my area) A couple people were making it difficult so she called me and knew she could count on me to get it done. Just a great day to bless people.

I saw a man this morning walking down the road to the scrap metal yard in Salem. Most people arrive in trucks to that place but this man was carrying three pieces of aluminum and walking to the check in place. I was taken back and started to think all sorts of derogatory things in my head about certain questionable lift styles. In mid sentence I stopped myself out loud and declared blessings on that man. I spoke life into his situation and asked the Lord to bless that man. “Knock his socks off!” I said. Who am I? Who am I to judge? Who are any of us to judge? Before you start preaching off your soapbox in judgment think of what you are about to say and what you are going to convict. What privilege do you have to hold the sword?

Two points, two verses. I can not get enough from the word.

1 John 1:7
New King James Version (NKJV)
7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Proverbs 12:18
Amplified Bible (AMP)
18 There are those who speak rashly, like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Lord, thank you for fellowship and guard my tongue.
